Agronomy Intern

Eco-Drip Irrigation is in need of at least 4 Summer Interns. If you meet the criteria, you will be working for a leader in the Sub-Surface Irrigation Industry!

Reporting Supervisor: Manager, Agronomy Department

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Sat 7:30 – 12:00 Hours subject to change or increase. For Summer 2019.

Job Objective: Customer service and Agronomy Department support

Essential Job Functions of the Agronomy Intern:

Assist agronomists and field representatives in grower consultations
Gather information for fertilizer blending facility
Learn Fertilizer Program
Manage assigned grower fields (scouting)
Assist in various field trials on assigned fields
Analyze field data
Fertilizer delivery
Tissue Sampling

Additional Responsibilities of the Agronomy Intern:

Attend local field days
Cooperate with all Eco-Drip personnel
Assist other departments as assigned
Perform other job duties as assigned

Education: Must be Currently enrolled at an accredited university in an applicable field of study

Job Standards and Prerequisites: Ability to travel within the service area. Occasional time and travel away from office and service area. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years old and have a spotless driving record (if under 21).* Drug screen*, background & MVR checks performed. Must be able and willing to work outside in agricultural settings all day. Work days are long. Duties involve; driving company vehicle, pulling and maneuvering a trailer, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, using hand tools & GPS. Must be able to read, and understand, maps, follow directions and instructions.

Critical Skills/Expertise/Experience:

Farm background, basic knowledge of drip irrigation and basic knowledge of plant fertility preferred but not required
Familiarity with, and tolerant of, Texas Panhandle (or similar location) weather required
Experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Expertise in providing customer service
Organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Commitment to Safety and Professionalism
Open minded

Job Location: West Texas & Texas Panhandle Areas. Travel within Eco-Drip trade areas, may include SW Oklahoma).

Construction Laborer + All Skill Levels

Be part of an Agricultural Irrigation Construction crew where your hard work, dedication and positive attitude are appreciated. Full-time positions for Agricultural Irrigation installation crew. All positions are outside jobs in agricultural environments performing various levels of manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance. Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, using various hand tools, shovels and equipment for construction and maintenance of agricultural irrigation systems. Positions based in Stratford/Dalhart, TX, but will include overnight stays for jobs hours away. Must work and communicate well with others, as part of a team, follow oral and written instructions, and be flexible with changing working conditions and seasonal weather. Driving for the position is not required, but you must have reliable transportation to and from our shop. Drug, background screens and MVR checks if driving, are performed. Benefits available for RFT employees. Competitive pay dependent upon skills and experience. Irrigation Service Technicians

Eco-Drip Irrigation is in need of Irrigation Service Technicians for our Dalhart/Stratford, TX service area, ASAP.If you enjoy working outside and with your hands, we want to talk to you!

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Detail minded - Results Driven – Strong Work Ethic - Willingness to learn and develop skills to advance in the company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS of the Irrigation Service Technician, if you're willing & eager to learn, we will train you to:

Troubleshoot operation of a sub-surface irrigation system
Service and maintain pumps, valves and piping.
-Digging trenches, laying water lines, conveyance lines, electric wiring.
Install, initialize, and repair computerized controllers and timers.
Execute service programs in an efficient and courteous manner.
Complete work orders & accompanying reports as required.
Construct filter stations: laying concrete floors, erecting metal buildings, running electrical lines.
Salesman support and service follow ups.
Machinery and equipment maintenance.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE for the Sub-surface Irrigation Service Technician, preferred but will train the right candidate:

Ability to Troubleshoot Low Voltage Electronics, run electric lines.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Management, Sales, Admin and Warehouse Staff, fellow Service Techs and Construction Crew Members.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Some experience in any of the following is preferred, but will train. Use of Computers/Laptop, Smart Phone, and various related software such as GPS, Word, Windows, CAD, Dynamics or Excel. Will train in specifics.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and perform basic math functions.

EQUIPMENT: trailers, excavating equipment, ATVs, forklifts and various tractors. Possible use of copiers, multi-line phones, fax machines, and other standard office equipment. Global Positioning System (GPS) Survey Equipment utilized in field mapping.

JOB STANDARDS AND PREREQUISITES: Prefer some electrical, plumbing, mechanical, irrigation and/or farming experience. * If driving, must maintain valid Driver's License, be insurable and able to drive and travel within service area with Company vehicle * Occasional time and overnight travel away from service area * Must be able to stand, walk, bend and kneel for long periods - Operate a shovel, good hand-eye coordination. Ability to read, write and perform basic math & measuring skills - Long days outside in all weather conditions.

JOB LOCATION: Between Dalhart & Stratford TX. Prefer someone in or from the Panhandle area of Texas.

Installing and repairing water lines, conveyance lines, electrical wiring, pulling wires, pouring concrete, trenching, back filling. All positions are outside jobs in agricultural environments performing various levels of manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance. Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, using various hand tools and equipment for construction and maintenance of agricultural irrigation systems. Positions are in our Altus, OK Service areas, but may involved overnight trips for jobs 2-4 hours away from home location. Must work and communicate well with others, as part of a team, follow oral and written instructions, and be flexible with changing working conditions and seasonal weather. Driving for the position is not required, but must have reliable transportation to and from our shop. Drug, background screens and MVR checks performed. Benefits available for RFT employees.
