Components

A subsurface drip irrigation system consists of four main components connected together with PVC pipe and fittings.  These four components are driplines, valves, a filter, and a flow meter.  The most important component is the filtration system.  This is the largest and most noticeable component of the drip system.  The filter's purpose is to protect drip emitters from plugging due to contaminants in the water.  The drip emitters are manufactured in the dripline and are a valuable part of the drip system.  The emitters are what allow the system to drip, appling small, precise amounts of water uniformly across an entire field.  Valves are used to break a system into zones which are critical in the design process.  The water meter has two very important purposes.  The first is as a management tool giving growers the precise amount of water applied.  The second purpose is as a diagnostic tool.  Together with a pressure gauge, this is the only way to know what is going on in your field.

Sand Media Filters

Sand Media Filters

Sand Media Filters provide high quality filtration (200Mesh) and operate at relatively low pressures (25 PSI).  The sand media filter comes with its own controller that will backwash itself as it is needed.  It is very reliable and virtually trouble free.

Drip Line

Drip Line

Eco-Drip Irrigation uses a seamed dripline, which comes in diameters of 5/8”, 7/8”, or 1".  The size and slope of your field will determine the size to be used.  The emitters are molded into a seamless wall of tubing for added strength, durability and long-term performance.  The emitters have a turbulent flow path which increases velocity to help prevent plugging by moving contaminants through the emitter.

Pressure Compensating Drip Line

Pressure Compensating Drip Line

Pressure compensating dripline operates at very high uniformity in undulating terrain.   The pressure compensating emitter is also injection molded with the same turbulent flow path as the regular dripline emitter.

PVC Fittings

PVC Fittings

With our broad stock of inventory, Eco-Drip Irrigation will be able to take care of the fittings you may require.

Flow Meter

Flow Meter

Flow meters are an important tool in any irrigation system.  They are especially important in an SDI system as they serve as a monitoring and diagnostic tool.  If you are in an area which requires a flow meter, be sure to check your districts approved list before you purchase a flow meter.

Sand Separator

Sand Separator

A high concentration of sand produced by some water wells can be a problem.  Although a sand separator is not a substitute for a filter, it can relieve as much as 95% of the load.
